Vigor VTrac™ Wireline Tractor
Description
Vigor VTracTM Wireline Tractor is a tool for conveying downhole equipment in cased horizontal wells and highly deviated wells. During operations in horizontal and highly deviated wells, when downhole equipment cannot continue to be lowered to the target well section by gravity, the crawler can use its own power device to convey the downhole equipment to the target well section.
Compared with drill pipe conveying, it can save construction time, reduce labor intensity, lower construction risks, and does not require a derrick. Compared with coil tubing conveying, it can convey equipment over a longer distance and is not affected by well depth.
Composition
Vigor VTracTM Wireline Tractor
Vigor VTracTM Wireline Tractor has its own independent system, includes downhole equipment and surface equipment. It should be work together with the logging winch. The logging tools can be connected at the top or the bottom of the tractor.

Features
• User-Friendly Interface: Simple, intuitive controls housed in a compact, robust, and rugged design.
• Modular & Scalable Force: Configurable with 2 to 4 drive joints, each delivering 2000N of traction. Easy field assembly. Two tractors can be used together for simultaneous operation.
• Superior Obstacle Navigation: Pure linear crawl (no rotation) with a proven ability to traverse ledges (see video). Broad 4-1/2" to 9-5/8" casing compatibility without arm change, enabling single-run operation in tapered casing strings (e.g., 9-5/8" to 7" to 4-1/2").
• Sealed Gearbox for Longevity: Fully enclosed gearbox for enhanced durability and extended service life.
• Adaptive Grip Control: The wellbore-calibrated and real-time adjustable gripping force prevents slippage and minimizes wear.
• Integrated System: Combines CCL, tension joint, and rotation modules within the traction system.
• Extensive Logging Tool Compatibility: Highly adaptable, supports a wide range of both mono- and multi-conductor logging tools.
• Fail-Safe Retraction: Arms automatically retract upon power loss, preventing downhole sticking and ensuring operational safety.

Application
In this context, efficiently and reliably delivering logging tools to the target depth-whether in open-hole or cased-hole environments-has become a critical operational challenge. The wireline tractor has emerged as a versatile and efficient solution, providing an alternative to conventional conveyance methods such as drill pipe or coiled tubing. Initially adopted primarily in cased-hole and production wells, its application has increasingly expanded to open-hole logging, reflecting its growing importance in advanced well intervention and evaluation operations.
Oil and Gas Well Logging: Carries various logging tools (such as acoustic, resistivity, gamma ray, caliper, ultrasonic imaging probes, etc.) into oil, gas, or water wells several thousand meters deep to collect information on wellbore temperature, pressure, flow rate, formation parameters, etc., in real-time. This data is used to evaluate reservoir conditions and wellbore integrity.
Production Logging and Diagnostics: Detects production profiles (identifying which zones are producing oil, gas, or water), identifies issues such as paraffin (wax) buildup, scale deposition, corrosion, perforation damage, and deformation in the tubulars, and locates leakage points.
Casing and Tubing Inspection: Conducts high-definition video inspection and ultrasonic wall thickness measurement of downhole casing and tubing to assess their health condition, providing a basis for decision-making regarding workover operations.
Perforation Operations: The crawler can carry perforating guns or small intervention tools to perform precise downhole operations.
