Vigor Mirage™ Dissolvable Frac Plug (Ball in Place)
Description
Vigor MirageTM Dissolvable Frac Plug (Ball in Place) is a new generation solutions for the unconventional completions. This high-performance frac plug provides zonal isolation for pump down applications during wellbore stimulation.
The large bore I.D. allows operators to produce through the plug while it remains in the wellbore and begins the dissolution process immediately following fracturing. Both of the body and the element can be dissolved, full wellbore I.D. is achieved after complete dissolution, eliminating the need for drilling out, thus help saving time and cost.
Features
High Compressive Strength: Designed to withstand operations in medium and deep wells, with all components, including sealing parts, made from degradable materials that leave no residue after dissolution.
Specialized Fracturing Bridge Plug: Equipped with a central production channel, allowing direct production after fracturing. The plug fully dissolves in wellbore fluid, eliminating the need for drilling.
Enhanced Performance: Compared to rubber-tube-sealed soluble bridge plugs, it offers better temperature adaptability-performing well in both lower and higher temperature ranges-and ensures thorough dissolution post-construction.
Drillability: In special cases where removal is required, the plug can be efficiently drilled out using standard high-performance milling tools.
Structure And Working Principle
Running Procedure
It is recommended to perform a gage ring or dummy run prior to installing any frac plugs in a wellbore to ensure that the wellbore is free from obstructions. Prior to running each plug the wellbore should be flushed clean of any sand that may be leftover from the previously fracked stage. A plug cart (or tension cart) should be used with lifting the lubricator to the wellhead. Do not place the weight of the gun string on the plug when going in the wellbore or on the end of the setting adapter kit when removing the setting tool from the wellbore.
Vertical Section
The maximum recommended RIH speed is 500 fpm in the vertical. If approaching fluid level, the speed should be reduced to 100 fpm.
Horizontal Section
Higher line speeds are better in the horizontal section as long as line tension remains under acceptable levels. Maximum recommended pump rate in the horizontal is 16 bpm. Monitor line tension when approaching the KOP. Begin pumping at 2 bpm as line tension decreases at the curve and increase at 2 bpm increments as needed.
Setting The Mirage Dissolvable Frac Plug
A standard set power charge is recommended for the setting tool. Pull tension into the wireline during plug setting to make sure setting tool moves up-hole after setting. Record overpull tension prior to setting the plug and compare to after setting the plug. Do not go back downhole to "check" plug after setting. Checking the plug set is possible with pressure when pumping the ball into seat in the future.
